Who are we?

After a glittering career working for an in-house training company, supported financially by a Local Authority, which meant that Adequate was always acceptable, the Authority decided to offload some dead wood, and Clintock-Felby found themselves in the real world.

Ben Clintock and Thomas Felby decided to pool their talents and create the ultimate training resource for those companies wishing to outsource their training to a “specialist” provider.

“We decided to stick with what we knew best” said Thomas Felby. “I am not a very dynamic speaker, and I usually rely on the fact that delegates will get in a lot of trouble with their bosses if they play up.”

“I’m more of a control freak” adds Ben Clintock, “I am very comfortable with having a bit of a moody if people don’t pay attention.”

What techniques do we use to train your people?

“The same old, same old ones that we used in the last place really. We make extensive use of powerpoint of course, though we don’t often bother with updating the slides. We usually save the slides till after lunch, because delegates are most likely to doze off at that point.” Says Felby.

Clintock adds “I will use energisers and the like, you know, just to make people feel awkward before we even start, and to kill a bit of time if we’re light on material, as we usually are.”

“Our biggest achievement” pipes up Thomas Felby “Is that we use actors sometimes … you know its quite a clever idea because when they’re on we can take a breather. Also, because they’re actors and not very financially astute, we haven’t raised their fees since we began. They’re demotivated but delegates never notice.”

“Hopefully you like the sound of us” pleads Clintock. “At heart I am a man who worries, and am terrified one day I’ll be exposed as a charlatan.”
